Toronto East End church of Christ

Who Are We?

We here at the East End church of Christ are an autonomous local church, meaning that we are not affiliated with any other church or organization.  We are also not a denomination because the New Testament teaches against such (I Corinthians 1:10, Ephesians 4:4).  We simply seek to be a part of the one true church that Christ built (Matthew 16:18).  We believe in following the Bible and the Bible alone, and thus we do not have any man-made creeds nor do we follow man-made doctrines (II Timothy 3:16-17, Galatians 1:6-9).  The Bible teaches that the only way to God is through Jesus Christ (John 14:6).  Jesus teaches us that in order to be saved, we must believe in Him (Mark 16:16), repent of our sins (Acts 2:38), confess our faith in Jesus as the Son of God (Romans 10:9-10), be baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 22:16), and then live faithfully unto death (Revelation 2:10).  As a local church, we seek to accomplish the work that God has given us to do.  We preach the Gospel to the lost in our local community as well as to the world at large (Matthew 28:19-20).  We help those who are needy Christians (I Corinthians 16:1-2).  We edify the saved (I Corinthians 14:12).  Individual Christians help those who are needy among the community, as the church is not authorized to do such (Galatians 6:10).

What To Expect When You Worship With Us

As our guests, you are welcome to worship with when we meet on Sunday and Wednesday.  There is no dress code, so you may come in any modest clothing that you have.  There is no assigned seating, so you may choose to sit anywhere in the auditorium.  You will also never be asked to contribute money to the local work, as such is a duty of the members of the congregation.  We have Bible classes for all ages from 10:00 AM - 10:41 AM every Sunday, while our assembled worship starts at 11:00 AM and will end around 12:15 PM.  We also meet for Bible class on Wednesday from 7:15 PM - 8:15 PM.  Our worship is simple because the worship found in the New Testament is simple.  We sing spiritual songs without the use of mechanical instruments of music.  We pray to God the Father through Jesus Christ.  We partake of the Lord's Supper every Sunday, consisting of unleavened bread and fruit of the vine.  We give of our means every Sunday, and hear a sermon from God's Word.

If you are in the northeast section of the city of Toronto, we invite you to come and worship with us.  Should you have any questions, please email us at: www.eastendchurch.org or phone us at 647-234-1983.  Directions to our place of worship is found under the Directions tab on the main page
